Coming to you right now from a very long car journey back home after having spent the last week in the Lake District. There were many many lakes, surprise surprise. Anyway, I’ve been dying to record this one for a while, it’s such a gorgeous song and really fleshes out Jasmines character. Also, i just love the message of this song, im a big old feminist and i grew up pretty shy and worried about speaking up in case I was judged by those around me, i grew out of it mostly but that thought can still live at the back of my head and as a women/humans we are taught to make sure we’re likeable, growing out of that mindset is hard because sometimes you need to create conflict and speak up to the people around you and that can be uncomfortable , especially under the patriarchy. Never let anyone put you down and if you want to speak up about something then do it! Easier said than done but you got this ❤️
